Looking to give your child the best start at school? A successful transition from kindergarten positively impacts children's time at primary school, secondary school and beyond. Being ready for school allows children and families to get excited about and enjoy the start of this journey. These sessions are led by experienced primary school teachers who have worked with students in their first year of school. We know the skills they will need to thrive in this new environment. Our engaging program aligns with the Victorian Curriculum and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. It is designed to prepare children by targeting important developmental areas, including social interaction, fine and gross motor skills, communication, Literacy and Mathematics, and emotional development.

 

​Social Interaction and Play: Children learn how to interact positively with peers, share, take turns, and navigate social situations through structured play activities.

Communication: Activities are designed to enhance verbal and non-verbal communication skills, encouraging children to listen actively and express themselves effectively.

Gross and Fine Motor Skills: Through games and activities, children develop coordination, balance, and dexterity, crucial for things such as writing and muscle development.

Literacy: Children engage in phonological and phonemic awareness activities to lay the foundation for success in reading and writing.

Mathematics: A strong conceptual understanding of the numbers to 10 is developed through fun and engaging mathematics tasks.

Emotional Development: Children learn to recognise and manage their emotions, building resilience and self-confidence.

This allows for steady progress and comprehensive development across all key areas while maintaining engagement and building excitement for learning at school.
